Has a year gone by already?

As I write this blog for my sweet princess, Ava, which is WAY OVERDUE I KNOW, I can’t help but wonder how fast time really does fly! It seems like yesterday that Ava was a newborn and so tiny in my arms. Today at exactly 14 months, she is walking, talking, and growing so fast. ( BTW, I think she’s going to get Daddy’s tall genes, which is a good thing. ) Well, I have so many pictures to share so I’m going to share my favorites with you all. So enjoy!

My last pic to share is one of my favorites because it’s a pic of Ava and I on the morning of Mother’s Day. Charlie had gotten a special Mommy card from Ava and had it in her hands when he brought her to me. I love this pic of her and I, especially with her just woke up out of bed head! :) Thank you Ava for the wonderful gift of mommyhood! Daddy and I LOVE you very much!

Wow, how time flies!

Hi family and friends!

Another update from the Pitkin family. Well, Ava is getting so big and is going to be 11 months this Sunday!! I can still remember when she was a baby and used to fall asleep in my arms. Now, she's a wiggle worm when I try to hold her unless she's super tired or not feeling good. Well, the big news in the Pitkin household is that Ava finally started CRAWLING earlier this month, actually on the 3rd to be exact. Yay, finally! My friend, Janise, was over with her little boys and Ava started crawling right in front of us in the living room. I was so shocked! It's amazing how they start developing new skills overnight! Now Ava is super fast crawling all over the house. She makes me laugh sometimes just watching her!! Well, I have many pictures to share with you all. It's sort of a collage of pics from the past 2 months. I know, I'm not real good about updating her blog every week, but oh well at least I finally get it done. :) Okay, so here it goes. Some pics don't need explanation; however, I will title some that need it. Enjoy!!

I told you there were a lot of photos. Well, I hope you enjoyed them all. I'm so excited that Ava's birthday is around the corner next month. I don't know exactly what I'm going to do, but I do know that it will be an intimate celebration with just family. Actually, with the combination of my side of the family and Charlie's, it ain't so small or intimate. j/k! Regardless of the size, it will be a joyous event! Can't wait!! Until then, God bless......

My best moments of December!

As you all can tell, it's been a while since our last post. So I thought I'd share our favorite news and pics of Ava this past December since it's now January. :0

First are a few pics of us enjoying the opening night of the Austin Trail of Lights. It was very warm that night so we decided to go though we knew it would be very crowded. (Good thing we did since the next couple of nights were super cold!!)

We first stopped by our friend, Julia's place, so she could join us for the night out at the park. She has a really beautiful condo just minutes from the park! Thanks Julia, for the VIP parking! :)

After our walk through the park, we headed to Chuy's (one of our favorite Tex-Mex spots) for a late dinner. There was too much going on with the people and the lights for Ava to get tired. Besides, she loves tortillas and queso and chicken,too!

Ava and Julia take such cute pictures together so we couldn't resist showing you one more of them two. :)

The following weekend, we had a birthday invitation to celebrate Ava's friend, Christian's first birthday! The party was held at Johnny Carino's Italian restaurant. It was sooo good! Ava loves eating regular food now. She munched on pasta, pizza, and garlic bread, and cake of course! Here is a pic of her and Christian before the party began and before they got messy with all the yummy food.

Well, that's all the pics for now. We still have Christmas Day photos to post though. In the meantime, I also wanted to share with you all on the top 5 cool things we've noticed about Ava recently. Here they are below:

5. She does great at sleepovers at Grandma's house and Aunt Nicky's house. Yay for Mommy and Daddy!

4. She has a longer attention span to listening to Mommy or Daddy reading to her. Picture books are great!

3. She eats table food really well and it's so nice for her to eat with us at the kitchen table when we eat together as a family. Besides drinking from a sippy cup, Ava is beginning to drink from a straw,too!

2. Ava enjoys playing more independently at home. She seems very content playing with her wooden or musical toys. It's so fun watching her play!

1. Ava is officially mobile around the house now! Though she is not crawling just yet, she is scootin her little body backwards around the living room to reach furniture and toys around her. Now it's time for the house to be child proofed! :0

Bling Bling for the Holidays!

Well, I finally did it... Ava got her EARS PIERCED! I had been delaying it for a while and decided it was finally time. We went with my friend, Christine and her son, Eli, to the mall to get it done. I was so nervous, but was so happy to have my friend for support. Iknow, what a wuss I am! :) Anyway, here is a pic of Ava and Eli hanging out at the Food Court before we went to get her ears pierced.

There go the alligator tears. :(

Now all better and sparkly! Yay!! No more crying. :) I was so proud of her.

Well, you all have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow. We are so excited to celebrate Ava's first Thanksgiving as a family. I'll be posting pics from that soon.
