July Happenings!

Hello Family and Friends! Sorry, it's been awhile since our last post, but I wanted to keep you all posted on the latest Ava happenin's this month.

First, Ava had her 1st casting call for a Pampers print ad.  A friend of mine notified me about it a week ago and so I couldn't pass the opportunity up to have my sweet baby in front of the camera!  Luckily, we didn't have to wait long in line to be seen as we arrived later in the day.  Below is a pic of Ava waiting for her name to be called.

Regardless if she gets a callback, the experience was fun!

Last Sunday, Charlie, Ava and I went to visit our dear friends, Beth and Carl, sing at Generation Church in Buda, TX.  Beth has an amazing voice and her husband, Carl, is an amazing guitarist.  He recently won 1st place in a guitar playing competition near Houston this year!!  Here's our photo op with our musician friends.IMG_4781 (They were so excited to get a surprise visit from us, especially since this was their first time to see Ava!)

Beth is releasing her new album on August 23rd! You can check out her website, which is beautifully designed by Carl, at www.bethminer.com .

Today, Ava and I visited my friend, Janise, and her son, AJ.  Ava played and played on the floor while watching AJ play around her.  He gets so excited to see her when she comes.  Here's an adorable pic of Janise, Ava, and AJ hugging each other as Ava gets ready to go bye bye.

IMG_4793 When we got home this afternoon, Ava received a wonderful package in the mail from Ribbies Clippies.  One of Charlie's clients owns this hair ribbon business, which sells adorable hair ribbon clippies for babies and toddlers.  I chose several designs for Ava and her friend, Ashlyn, in Dallas to wear. :)  Ava couldn't wait to wear them right away so I put one on her as soon as I opened the package!

IMG_4816 If you would like to check out these cute clippies, which by the way attach really easily to fine hair, then you can visit their website at www.ribbiesclippies.com .  They come in many cute colors!

Well, that's all for now. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that this past week, Ava, Daddy, and I went to the movies together for the first time!  We saw Mama Mia with some other friends and their babies (Yes, Charlie was the only dude, but he had a blast!).  It's baby day at the Alamo Draft house on Tuesdays for the first showing so the theatre was crowded with mommies and their babies.  Ava did really well to my relief.  I got to enjoy a movie and a meal at the same time!!! Hooray!  Well, that's all folks!  We'll be back sooner than later.

Born to be Wild!

Hey, so I almost forgot to mention the visit that Ava had one day from one of her favorite aunts, Aunt Nicki! Nicki is so sweet to watch Ava on many weekends while Charlie and I work. So Aunt Nicki and Ava have gotten to spend a lot of time together. One Sunday that Charlie and I were home, Nicki came over with her husband, Luke to bring a special gift for Ava. That afternoon, they had just come from the popular Austin Bike Rally, which brings thousands of people to Austin every year. Nicki purchased an adorable motorcycle themed Mexican dress for Ava, which was sooo cute! (There's a picture of Ava in her dress in an earlier blog)

We went outside to take a couple of pictures of Ava posing with the motorcycle that Nicki and Luke rode on. What do you think? A natural on the bike, huh?

IMG_4407 IMG_4408 Charlie used to own a motorcyle a couple of years ago,so who knows, maybe Ava will learn to love to ride one, too! Actually, I'm really kidding. I would be really nervous if she did. :)

Here's a pic of Ava with her Aunt Nicki and Uncle Luke...

Thanks Aunt Nicki for the beautiful dress! Ava will wear it as often as she can. Well, that's it for now. Be back next week for another Ava update.

Independence Day Baby!

This past Fourth of July was such a fun day as Daddy took the whole day off to spend the holiday with Ava and Mommy.  We all slept in and then got ready for the annual 4th of July parade in our neighborhood.  We sat with other families along the parade route and watched the many decorated cars and floats go by! Ava had a blast seeing all the sights and sounds. :)

IMG_4730 IMG_4728 IMG_4733 Maybe Ava can be in the parade next year! Here's a pic of Ava with Mommy and Daddy...

IMG_4736 The parade was so fun to watch and afterwards, we walked to the park and played on the swings.  After our time outside, we were all sleepy and took a nap.  The heat does that to you, ya know?  We went to lunch that day at a wonderful family spot called Phil's Icehouse, which is cleverly located adjacent to Amy's Ice Cream so you know we had some delicious ice cream for dessert after our wonderful burgers!  I know Ava will love their ice cream one day, too!

That evening we went to a Fourth of July BBQ at the home of our friends, Bernard and Tiffany.  We should have had a light lunch because there was a BBQ feast that evening plus several desserts! Ava enjoyed all the new faces in the room and stayed up past her bedtime as she was having a good time that night.  Here is a pic with Ava and Miss Marina.

IMG_4741 As the evening started to get later, Charlie and I headed back home, but made one last stop at our neighborhood park again for the spectacular fireworks show they perform.  Here's a few pics from that night!

IMG_4744 IMG_4749 Needless to say, once we finally arrived home, Ava was ready to hit the crib sack. :) She was very sleepy by then.  Well, we hope you had a great holiday weekend as we did.  We are so blessed to have men and women in the Armed Forces serve our country to protect the very freedom that we are so blessed to have!!  God bless them and God bless you all.  Until next time.....
