Summertime is Playtime!

It's me again with another update on the princess.  Well, Charlie and I just can't believe how much Ava is growing each week.  I've always heard parents talk about how much babies grow, but I never really got it until Ava came along.  She just had her 4 month dr visit last week and she weighed a whopping 17 1/2 lbs! She is also over 25 inches long, which puts her in the 90th percentile in height for her age.  Maybe she'll grow up to be America's Next Top Model! j/k!

Last Thursday, Ava hung out with Daddy all evening while I had a makeup gig.  They went to a Luau party at Charlie's co-worker's home in Lakeway.  According to Daddy, Ava had a blast enjoying all the attention from the ladies there.  Here's a pic of Ava and Daddy enjoying a father daughter date night!

Another day last week while Daddy was watching Ava, he laughed as he noticed Ava trying to reach her foot while sitting in her baby chair.   Successfully, Ava was able to reach her foot!

IMG_4845 IMG_4846 IMG_4847(Oops! Daddy caught me reaching my foot!)

IMG_4849 (Oh well! My foot is yummy!I can't resist it.)

This past Sunday, we went together as a family to go swimming for the first time this Summer!  So we headed down to Deep Eddy Pool, which is a Spring fed pool so there is no chlorine in the water.  We all loved it, especially Ava!  She's a natural in the water.   Here's a couple of pics with us playing with Ava at the pool.

IMG_4855 By the way, Ava is wearing a one of a kind bunny bathing suit with a cotton tail at the end, in case you were wondering. :)

Finally, I leave you with this adorable video I captured of Ava having fun in the water with Daddy.  Have a great week everyone!

July Happenings!

Hello Family and Friends! Sorry, it's been awhile since our last post, but I wanted to keep you all posted on the latest Ava happenin's this month.

First, Ava had her 1st casting call for a Pampers print ad.  A friend of mine notified me about it a week ago and so I couldn't pass the opportunity up to have my sweet baby in front of the camera!  Luckily, we didn't have to wait long in line to be seen as we arrived later in the day.  Below is a pic of Ava waiting for her name to be called.

IMG_4778 Though she looked cute in pink, I soon realized that she need to bare down to her diaper since it was a diaper audition.  So here she is with mommy getting ready for her close up!IMG_4780

Regardless if she gets a callback, the experience was fun!

Last Sunday, Charlie, Ava and I went to visit our dear friends, Beth and Carl, sing at Generation Church in Buda, TX.  Beth has an amazing voice and her husband, Carl, is an amazing guitarist.  He recently won 1st place in a guitar playing competition near Houston this year!!  Here's our photo op with our musician friends.IMG_4781 (They were so excited to get a surprise visit from us, especially since this was their first time to see Ava!)

Beth is releasing her new album on August 23rd! You can check out her website, which is beautifully designed by Carl, at www.bethminer.com .

Today, Ava and I visited my friend, Janise, and her son, AJ.  Ava played and played on the floor while watching AJ play around her.  He gets so excited to see her when she comes.  Here's an adorable pic of Janise, Ava, and AJ hugging each other as Ava gets ready to go bye bye.

IMG_4793 When we got home this afternoon, Ava received a wonderful package in the mail from Ribbies Clippies.  One of Charlie's clients owns this hair ribbon business, which sells adorable hair ribbon clippies for babies and toddlers.  I chose several designs for Ava and her friend, Ashlyn, in Dallas to wear. :)  Ava couldn't wait to wear them right away so I put one on her as soon as I opened the package!

IMG_4816 If you would like to check out these cute clippies, which by the way attach really easily to fine hair, then you can visit their website at www.ribbiesclippies.com .  They come in many cute colors!

Well, that's all for now. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that this past week, Ava, Daddy, and I went to the movies together for the first time!  We saw Mama Mia with some other friends and their babies (Yes, Charlie was the only dude, but he had a blast!).  It's baby day at the Alamo Draft house on Tuesdays for the first showing so the theatre was crowded with mommies and their babies.  Ava did really well to my relief.  I got to enjoy a movie and a meal at the same time!!! Hooray!  Well, that's all folks!  We'll be back sooner than later.

Caio!

Born to be Wild!

Hey, so I almost forgot to mention the visit that Ava had one day from one of her favorite aunts, Aunt Nicki! Nicki is so sweet to watch Ava on many weekends while Charlie and I work. So Aunt Nicki and Ava have gotten to spend a lot of time together. One Sunday that Charlie and I were home, Nicki came over with her husband, Luke to bring a special gift for Ava. That afternoon, they had just come from the popular Austin Bike Rally, which brings thousands of people to Austin every year. Nicki purchased an adorable motorcycle themed Mexican dress for Ava, which was sooo cute! (There's a picture of Ava in her dress in an earlier blog)

We went outside to take a couple of pictures of Ava posing with the motorcycle that Nicki and Luke rode on. What do you think? A natural on the bike, huh?

IMG_4407 IMG_4408 Charlie used to own a motorcyle a couple of years ago,so who knows, maybe Ava will learn to love to ride one, too! Actually, I'm really kidding. I would be really nervous if she did. :)

Here's a pic of Ava with her Aunt Nicki and Uncle Luke...

Thanks Aunt Nicki for the beautiful dress! Ava will wear it as often as she can. Well, that's it for now. Be back next week for another Ava update.

Independence Day Baby!

This past Fourth of July was such a fun day as Daddy took the whole day off to spend the holiday with Ava and Mommy.  We all slept in and then got ready for the annual 4th of July parade in our neighborhood.  We sat with other families along the parade route and watched the many decorated cars and floats go by! Ava had a blast seeing all the sights and sounds. :)

IMG_4730 IMG_4728 IMG_4733 Maybe Ava can be in the parade next year! Here's a pic of Ava with Mommy and Daddy...

IMG_4736 The parade was so fun to watch and afterwards, we walked to the park and played on the swings.  After our time outside, we were all sleepy and took a nap.  The heat does that to you, ya know?  We went to lunch that day at a wonderful family spot called Phil's Icehouse, which is cleverly located adjacent to Amy's Ice Cream so you know we had some delicious ice cream for dessert after our wonderful burgers!  I know Ava will love their ice cream one day, too!

That evening we went to a Fourth of July BBQ at the home of our friends, Bernard and Tiffany.  We should have had a light lunch because there was a BBQ feast that evening plus several desserts! Ava enjoyed all the new faces in the room and stayed up past her bedtime as she was having a good time that night.  Here is a pic with Ava and Miss Marina.

IMG_4741 As the evening started to get later, Charlie and I headed back home, but made one last stop at our neighborhood park again for the spectacular fireworks show they perform.  Here's a few pics from that night!

IMG_4744 IMG_4749 Needless to say, once we finally arrived home, Ava was ready to hit the crib sack. :) She was very sleepy by then.  Well, we hope you had a great holiday weekend as we did.  We are so blessed to have men and women in the Armed Forces serve our country to protect the very freedom that we are so blessed to have!!  God bless them and God bless you all.  Until next time.....

Social Butterfly!

This past week, Ava has been out and about in ATX and also had some wonderful visitors at home! First, I took  Ava with me last week as I babysat one of my friends son, AJ. Ava and AJ had a great time together.  AJ was so excited to have a friend over that day that he kept bringing toys for Ava to play with.  Too bad she's too young  to play with blocks and toy cars.  :=) Here's a pic of the precious two!

IMG_4588

The next day,  Ava and I had lunch with our sweet friend, Julia, at Fresh Choice. You gotta pick those kid friendly places when you have a little one. :)

IMG_4638 After lunch, we  all took a stroll down in the Arboretum shopping area and checked out all the pretty stores.  Ava  ended up falling asleep in her stroller while mommy and Julia shopped.

The following night, we had a fun birthday party to attend at a Mexican restaurant called Dario's.  My uncle Tony, Ava's great uncle,  turned the big 50! Here's a pic of him and Ava below.

IMG_4652 Check out her Mexican dress!

Ava was so excited to stay up past her bedtime! She danced and enjoyed all the attention from her cousins and aunts, and of course, her grandma.  Here she is with Grandma on the left picture and with Aunt Ofelia on the right picture.

IMG_4651 IMG_4647

Daddy had a blast with his princess.  He had his first dance with Ava  that night!

Boy, did Ava have a fun night out with the parents! She hit the sack as soon as we were home as she was worn out from all the fun and excitement.

That Friday, my best friend's sister, Sejena, came over to get her makeup done for her 10 year high school reunion.  Boy, do I feel old! Anyway, Sejena was so excited to see Ava for the first time ! Here's a sweet pic of them together.

IMG_4660

Well, thanks again for checking out Ava's blog.  hope you enjoyed it!  PEACE OUT!

Daddy's Girl

This past Sunday was Father's Day and Ava had a wonderful time with Dad and I, especially Dad!  We were ready to go to church that morning, but first Ava had a very important card that she was so excited to give to Daddy.  Check out her craft masterpiece, courtesy of her babysitter and relative, Jesse.  What a cute idea!

IMG_4402 By the way, those little grapes on her first Father's Day card were from her own little fingers.

Charlie wanted to try carrying Ava in his sling as Mommy does so here's a funny pic of them two together.

IMG_4398

After church, we all went to Central Market for some lunch that day and Ava behaved so well that we were able to enjoy a nice lunch without any fussiness from the princess, who normally does not like to be in her stroller for very long. Another cute pic with Daddy.

IMG_4404

Afterwards, Dad wanted some R&R at home enjoying his favorite pastime,Golf! So Ava and I just chilled out,too and relaxed.  That evening, we walked to the neighborhood park and took Ava out on the swing for the first time.  Below are a few pics with Mommy and Daddy.

After the park, it was time for bed. :) Boy, did she sleep good that night after all that playtime with us that day.

Ava's a Flirt fan!

Okay, so this is my first blog EVER! And of course, this one is all about my princess, Ava Rose. :) I've titled it Ava's adventures because life is an adventure with this little one even though she is only 3 months old. Wow, how time flies!! So with the encouragement of one of my friends, who is also a new mommy, I decided to start a blog to share Ava's adventures with all our friends and family, especially our out of town ones, since she is growing so fast!

So yesterday, Ava and I went to this fabulous boutique near UT campus called Flirt! Since I'm back to work from maternity leave, I was invited back to their Get Made event as their resident makeup artist. Check out http://www.flirtinaustin.com/ to check out more details about their monthly event and their fabulous store. Anyways, the owners, Leah and Melissa, wanted to take pictures of me in their clothes for their "Get Made" Flyer so I brought Ava with me to give her thumbs up on the outfit I was to wear. :=) Since mommy was getting all dolled up in cute clothes, Ava needed to be fabulous as well so I dressed her in her "Princess Ava" outfit for the first time. Sooo cute! Take a look ...I've also included a few pics of the divas from Flirt with Ava! And of course, another pic with mommy.

After I took my photos in their cute clothes, Ava and I headed to my dear friend, Micky's house. Micky cohosted a fabulous baby shower for me that was a Hollywood Diva theme. I have included a few pics from the shower decor because she put so much love and talent into it. And by the way, Micky made the chocolates from scratch, and the moon and stars hanging from the chandeliers were frosted sugar cookies! Yummy! She's like a Mexican Martha Stewart. So Micky had not seen Ava since she was 3 weeks old so Ava and I went to visit her at home. Here's a pic of them two below. After our visit there, Ava was one tired chica so we headed home so she could get a good nap in. Well, that's it for our first post. I hope you have enjoyed reading this. I will be posting new adventures quite often so be on the lookout!

Smooches,

Adrienne and Princess Ava

p.s. I haven't forgotten about daddy, especially since Father's Day is coming up so I'll keep you posted on Ava's day with Daddy.
